Spring Art Sale first weekend in March

Open to public from 2pm Friday – 4.45pm Sunday.

Who can submit work?

Only Members can register to take part. There is a fee for a screen or craft table on which to display your work.

All works hung on the screens must be originals – (no prints or copies of other artist’s work).

All items on the screens and in the troughs must be for sale.

A member may exhibit a single painting for a cost of £5 per painting on a mixed artist screen.

You may arrange to share a 6ft or 8 ft (2 x 4ft) screen with another artist

Can you submit prints/unframed work
3 unframed paintings or quality prints may be exhibited (in the troughs) to be listed with your framed pictures on the entry form
Can you submit cards?

Cards may be offered for sale if you have booked a screen. 

Each Member is allowed 20 packs of one or more cards to be listed on the form provided.

Pack prices should be multiples of 50p.

Card packs need NOT be numbered

If you have paintings larger than dimensions of up to 76cm x 76 cm (30 inches) we only have 3 Easels to accommodate them – please ask the Exhibition organiser

Availability of Tables for Craft
There is space for 2 or 3 tables (£12.00 per table) for those who would like to exhibit and sell craft items – sculptures and pottery etc. A table could be shared between artists.

How are screens allocated?
Allocation of screens is arranged by the Exhibition team and we endeavour to put artists on a different screen each year.
How should we label our work?

Please label all your pictures with the labels provided.  The labels can be collected on Tuesday PM from Cookham Dean Village Hall, or collected by arrangement or posted to you if you supply a stamped addressed envelope to the Exhibition Organiser.

Spare labels will be available on set-up day.

Who displays your work?

You will have approximately 1 hour to display your work on the allocated screen. We suggest you plan the layout of your screen before you arrive on hanging day.

We suggest you complete your form and all the labels prior to arrival and then hand the completed form to stewards before you leave.

Craft submissions to arrive after most screens are hung. allowing approx. 30mins

Sales

Buyers can take all their purchases on the day. If all your reserves are displayed your screen/table will be rearranged to maintain a pleasant layout.

Schedule of events

Friday 9am: Set up team arrive

  • Paintings to arrive: 11.30am to 12.30pm and no later
  • Craft: 12.30 to 1.00pm
  • Hand in entry forms before you leave

Friday 2pm: Exhibition opens to the public

Sunday:

  • 4:45pm – Exhibition closes, Craft collection
  • 5:00pm – Collect Paintings, unframed and cards.
  • 5:15pm – Dismantling Screens.

The club produces a monthly newsletter with interesting articles and photos of the previous month’s events and details of forthcoming events, including the venue, booking details and fees.

REGULAR PAINTING SESSIONS
Regular painting sessions are held each week and once a month there is a monthly meeting with a demonstration by a visiting artist. Four times a year we have all-day workshops with a professional artist to facilitate the day.

THE CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The club holds an AGM followed by a talk each year in November. The club also has social events including a summer party, often held in a member’s garden and a Christmas party to which partners are also invited

COOKHAM ARTS CLUB SAA AFFILIATION

The Club is affiliated to the SAA (Society for all Artists) which has thousands of members worldwide.
We have Third Party Public Liability Insurance for our Exhibitions with the SA
