Preview Evening with Talks

To celebrate the start of the festival, WildCookham has organised a preview evening on Friday 9th June (7 – 9:30pm) at the Sir Bernard Miller Centre among the art displays. The Preview Evening is free but numbers will be limited.

Peter Gibbs (presenter of the BBC 4 Costing the Earth and Gardeners Question Time) has been invited to talk about climate change, Jan Stannard (Co-founder of Heal Rewilding) and Estelle Bailey (CEO of the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust) will inspire hope and talk about the future of wildlife in the UK. Also present will be some of the artists to share their artworks’ narrative and a chance to purchase your favourite piece before the weekend.

To secure you free place at the Preview evening, register your free day/s at the Our Changing festival or book a workshop visit here.

Cookham Festival

The club tries to support and be involved with the local community. Each year the Tuesday Painters usually have paintings on display in Cookham at the Elizabeth House Day Centre for the elderly. We also have a small display at Cookham Dean Fete. On alternate years Cookham Arts Club organises an art display as part of the Cookham Festival in May. Members of the club and other artists in Cookham may take part. The format varies each year. In 2019 all work was painted on a canvas 30 x 30 cm, another year a painting competition was held, all with the main theme of Cookham but with a different focus each time.
